Polly ♥

Today my family's long time cat of 14 years, Polly, had to be put to sleep. She was such a tough little kitty, and I'm happy that she is no longer suffering. My whole family will miss her dearly, and we're so thankful for all the sweet memories she gave us. We love you Polly! Here is this poem that the veteranarian gave to us.. It will make you cry!
From Friend To Friend
You're giving me a special gift,
so sorrowfully endowed,
and through these last few cherished days,
your courage makes me proud.
But really, love is knowing
when your best friend is in pain,
and understanding earthly acts
will only be in vain.
So looking deep into your eyes,
beyond into your soul,
I see in you the magic
that will once more make me whole.
The strength that you possess
is why I look to you today,
to do this thing that must be done
for it's the only way.
That strength is why I've followed you
and chose you as my friend,
and why I've loved you all these years...
My partner 'til the end.
Please understand what this gift
you're giving, means to me,
It gives me back the strength I've lost,
and all my dignity.
You take a stand on my behalf
for that is what friends do,
And know that what you do is right,
for I believe it too.
So one last time I breathe your scent
And through your paw I feel,
the courage that's within you
to now grant me this appeal.
Cut the leash that holds me here
dear friend, and let me play,
once more a strong and steady cat
my pain and struggle done.
And don't despair my passing
for I won't be far away,
forever here within your heart
and memory I will stay.
I'll be here watching over you
your ever faithful friend,
and in your memories I'll play
...a young cat once again.

Christmas 2008

Christmas was pretty good this year! Carli and Chris slept over on christmas eve to help celebrate my Dad's 46th birthday (it was also my half birthday :) yay!). We had our usual candlelight dinner... and I swear it was the best dinner I've ever had! Anyways, Carli had to leave at 4am Christmas morning because she had work at the hospital, and couldn't really get out of it. So we ended up opening just one present in the morning until she get back at 2pm. We're so nice!

About the presents... I got the DVD's house bunny and the Dark Knight, lots of itunes giftcards, and this thing called "Ginalli Milano curling wand"...sounds pretty fancy! It's just this weird curling iron thing that my mom got in Texas, and it's not in Utah yet... Special! She used it on my hair last night and I figured they would be gone this morning, because my hair doesn't hold curls so good, but they are still here!

Thats about it! Can't wait for Christmas 09..

This is all new to me..

I decided it was time for me to start one of these, but it will take me a while to get the hang of it! Anyways, I'll start with some more recent stuff...
The Royalaires that I help coach have been doing awesome! They had their first competition back on Dec. 6 at Davis High. It's funny because Davis was my school, and I was on the D'ettes, so coaching a different drill team is weird sometimes.. But I love it, and I wouldn't want to be coaching any other team! They placed 4th in the Kick and Military divisions, and 3rd in Dance. Ashleigh, the drill mistress took 3rd place in the solo competition held on friday, the 5th.

It was a very long weekend. I only live 5 minutes away from Davis high, but I had to drive to Roy at 5am saturday morning to drive on the bus with the team back to davis. Even after the comp, I went on the bus back to Roy just to get my car. Fun fun! It's all worth it :)
Their second competition was this past weekend at Jordan High. We left friday after school to get there on time for the solo competition.. Shelby and Ashleigh did awesome, as always! Saturdays results ended up being that we placed 3rd in Lyrical, 2nd in hip hop and kick, and 1st in military and jazz! It was so much fun! They have been working so hard, and I'm so proud of them!

Here are a few pictures from the Jordan comp..

This is them on the bus. By the way, I think our bus driver had a crush on Meagan! He was pretty weird..

Jess and Jenna with their krumper faces!

they shook it like never before :)

lyrical girls! It's still weird seeing ash with long hair!

right before dance..

It's kind of fuzzy.. but still, they rocked it!
